How to choose a running shoe?

Running can be said to be one of the easiest and most effective sports. If Someone wants to do his job well, he/she must first choose the right shoes. You should select a good pair of jogging shoes so that you won’t lose your ambition because of sports injuries. A running shoe should be lightweight and soft. Here is some point to remember before choosing the shoe for running.

1. Weight

Comfortable shoes keep your feet feeling light and fast. It is said that: “It is often not the heavy burden on our body that hinders our progress, but the unsuitable shoes under our feet.” This shows how important a shoe is in our lives. This shows how important a shoe weight is! But lighter shoes have less cushioning.

2. Cushioning

The air cushion shoe has a special type of function, they have an air storage cavity at the upper and lower part of the sole which can form an air cushion, which works as a ventilation device with the air inlet channel and the air outlet channel provided on the shoe.

The highlight of the air-cushion shoe is its shock absorption capacity, which has better stability and maximizes the comfort of the wearer.

 Cushioning shoes are more suitable for running wear. The reason for appearing is cushioning better protect running behavior and the knees may have pain in the long run if knees not handled well.  

 

3. Stability

You may have heard the term “pronation” if you are a runner. 

You can find it out according to the following method – In the standing position, the two ankle joints are close together. If there is a gap between the knee joints and the gap is large, it is overpronation. If after the legs are upright, the knee joint is close and there is a gap in the ankle joint or lower limb, it is supination. If both ankle and knee are so close at the same time, then that condition is called Neutral. The neutral foot doesn’t need any special shoe technology, but over-pronation and supination need specially designed shoes. Most of the shoes are designed for Neutral Pronation. You can find the right shoe according to your foot design.

4. The sole

Soles are usually made up of soft rubber materials. The most weighted part of a shoe is sole.

The soles should be layered, with different thicknesses and materials before and after. The part of the bottom layer directly contacting the ground should be strong and wear-resistant, but it should not be so hard as to lose the cushioning effect, and there must be properly distributed protrusions to have traction on the ground and not slip. The first 1/3 of the sole must be soft to fit the flexion of the toe joint and reduce the injury of the Achilles tendon.

Sole are different types based on “Drop” measures. Drop is the difference between the height of forefoot and heel. For example – the height of forefoot is 10mm and the height of the heel is 18mm, then the drop is 8mm. Runners say the drop is not a big matter, it depends upon your choices. Moreover, you can decide if you need a minimum drop or maximum drop. The people who touch the ground with their mid-feet first, then lower drop is a better option for them.

Note That....

  • The best time to choose shoes is in the afternoon. Because the feet have been active for a few hours at that time, they will be bigger than in the morning. When choosing shoes, wear sports socks. It is best to wear new shoes on one foot and old shoes on the other. After comparing with each other, you will only wear new shoes on both feet.
  • Space should be reserved at the front of the toes, and should not be in contact with the toe, because the shoes may become wider after wearing for a long time, but they will not grow, so the length of the shoes must be more than 2, 3 cm more than the actual length of the feet.
  • The running shoes of different brands vary in price. For the average person, it is not necessary to buy the most expensive, because the more expensive running shoes are often famous brand competition shoes. The weight varies, this kind of running shoes for the competition is not suitable for usual training, so don’t be fooled by the price.
